Vinyl Dialect is a three-man hip hop group from East Anglia signed to Wall of Sound Recordings.
'We don't want the band on the cover."
"Why?"
"They aren't pretty enough<wink>."

T his was my first discussion with the label when asked to pitch.
The album was called 'Dialect' which to me is a simple form of communication.
So I came up with the idea of using the proverb 'Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil', as a basis for the art direction and illustrating three characters in a pose to suit the proverb drawn with a nice 6B pencil.
This illustration (right) was part of the initial pitch (which you view below) and became the cover to the album sampler, and the actual album cover itself.
