Near And Far/Fjern og Nær Storytelling/Music festival, North Norway ................................................................. I am currently designing all of the literature, the posters, the tickets, the t-shirts, the badges, the bags, the map and the web site for what we hope will become a very popular Culture Festival on the island of Nyksund in the Arctic Circle of North Norway. Last year we hosted the event in our building. This year, under the title of Near and Far (or Fjern of Nær in Norwegian) we are helping to organise the event across a whole weekend for the first time. There will be lots of live music, a mini film festival, a pecha-kucha night (hosted by yours truly) as well as a host of other events. The design is to resemble Opticians test boards, but this has become abstracted, in a positive way by using a more handrawn font; rather than Helvetica bold – which looked to too clinical and stark. I plan on screen-printing the posters myself (to sell of course during the festival) as well as the T-shirts and Organic Totes bags. More soon. |
