Laurence King
Publishing ................................................................. Laurence King is a publishing company that specialises
in books for the creative industry from arts & crafts, to architecture,
graphic design, and many more.
I have worked with LKP for five years now on a multitude of projects
ranging from small promotional pieces, to entire books, catalogues
and the overhaul of there web site.
However my main involvement was also in developing their brand (having
been designed by Vince Frost). The initial part of this ongoing project
(as seen in the branding section of this site click
here) was a series of promotional tools in the form of posters
and postalogues™, as seen here.

Instore
poster
.................................................................
"We need an instore poster to appeal to students. Something typographical",
was the brief.
The concept I developed was that, being a student, you cannot leave
for university without LKP.Taking that literally I commission a five
foot model of the LKP 'K' logo and strapped it to the roof of a packed
car.
Postalogues™
.................................................................
After the instore poster I got some feedback, "We love the K!!
We need to promote our new architecture and graphic design books,
any ideas?"
Yes, A2 posters folded down to A5 to be used as inserts in Creative
review, and posted to their mailing list - for starters!
P romoting new books, like a catalogue - I called them 'Postalogues™
- one for the new architecture books and one for the new graphics
books. With a beautiful picture of the K shot in two locations which
are synonymous with those industries, and the content on the reverse,
a match made in typographical/architectural heaven.
