The
Sunday Times The Month: The Hives .................................................................. Focusing
on the imports of music talent from Sweden. Highlighting the (then)
newly released album from The Hives and others besides as the ones
to watch.
Since Sweden was the theme we were lucky enough to research a selection
of magazines, and furniture catalogues from the sixties and seventies.
Given that each chapter focused on one particular band or artist,
our creative basis used a design approach inspired by the editorial
design of the seventies. Giving each page an individual typographical
layout and design approach from an era fo swedish catalogue design.
Our 'spoke player' here featured a design derived from those infamous
IKEA instruction manuals.
